Charles W. Madsen, 47, of King Street, South Windsor, died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital after a short illness. Born in Bloomfield, Oct. 21, 1911, he lived 20 years in South Windsor. He was a member of Evergreen Lodge, AF&AM, South Windsor and Evergreen Wood Lodge, OES, South Windsor. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marjorie Curtis Madsen; two daughters, Miss Sandra Madsen and Miss Carol Madsen, both of South Windsor; two brothers, Edward Madsen of Manchester and Albert Madsen of Wilson, and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Cristoffel of Palo Alto, Calif., Mrs. Pauline Nephew of Hartford and Mrs. Francis Burnham of East Hartford. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 308 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, South Windsor. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Evergreen Lodge, AF&AM, will meet at the funeral home tonight at 8 p.m. for a Masonic service.
