James Orvis Gibbs,88, of rural Strawberry Point, died Saturday, July 5, 1997, in his home after a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be in August. There will be no visitation. His body has been deeded to the University of Iowa College of Medicine.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; two daughters, Ruth Haan of Parkersburg and Jane Hazen of Wagner, S.D.; four sons, Frank and Edward, both of Strawberry Point, John of New Albin and Joe of Cedar Falls; and a brother, Leslie of Manchester.
