He was born May 25, 1944 in Chicago, the son of Walter and Agnes (Mackey) Pearson.
Jerry graduated from Cary-Grove High School in 1962. Jerry then earned his Inhalation therapy degree from Holy Family Hospital in 1963. On his first day of work at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, Jerry met a student nurse who stole his heart. Jerry and Elaine (Heine) were married in Hanover Twp. on October 9, 1965. Jerry went on to study at Loyola for undergraduate school and then received his Masters Degree from the University of Minnesota in 1978 working his way up to CEO of the Provena Health Corp. where he worked for 40 years and retired in 2002. Jerry was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. He also spent much time volunteering on various community and professional boards. Jerry loved fishing, traveling, golf and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 49 yrs, Elaine; daughter's, Tammy (Daniel) Pritt of Chicago, Penny (Michael) Viater of Dyer, IN; grandchildren, Eric, Kevin and Brian Pritt, Tawny, Andrew and Joshua Viater; brothers, Thomas (Janice) of Punta Gorda, FL, John (Elizabeth) Las Vegas, William (Christine) Crystal Lake; sister in law, Susan Pearson of Crystal Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death parents; and brother, Richard Pearson.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 16, at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo, 297 Jefferson Ave, Hampshire with Rev. Sylvester Nnaso and Msgr. Thomas Dempsey officiating. Following cremation, burial will be private at a later date. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 15 from 4 to 8 pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to the church or the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart, 9201 W. St. Francis Rd, Frankfort, IL 60423-8330
