Reba Anna Betts, 94, passed away at home with her family at her side on October 26, 2007. She was born in Jacksboro, Tennessee on November 28, 1912, and moved to Akron at an early age. Mrs Betts was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a volunteer in Girl Scouts, Brownies, and was a volunteer for over forty years at Akron General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Verlan Cash Betts in 1999; daughter, Wanda Lee Wolfe; grandson, Steven Stopher (Wanda Lee’s son), parents, Charlie Vincent and Hattie Vincent Mills; sisters, Bertha Coble, Charlene Godfrey, Mary Dawson Ledsome; and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by daughters, Vera Mae (George) Halterman; Betty Jean Betts of Hampstead NC; and Carol Ann Cavener of Boise Idaho; son in law, Robert Wolfe; grandchildren, Karen Sue McCracken, Mark (Melodi) Halterman, Daniel Stopher, Megan Betts Ryals, Scott Cavener, and Pamela Huff; great grandchildren, Jessie (Renee) McCraken, Dustin, Tara, and Samantha Halterman, Anna Cash Stopher, Austin Stopher, Tatum Cavener, Chase Huff and Jaden Cavener; great great grandchildren, Austyn, Aubrey, and Brady Cash McCracken; many loving nieces, nephews and friends; including Patsy Allamog of Hampstead NC.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. with Rev. Chad Durfee officiating. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 29, from 4 to 7p.m.
