Jesse W. Funk, 26, of Louisville, Colo., formerly of Latrobe, passed away Tuesday, Aug 4, 2015, at the Swedish Medical Center, Englewood, Colo., due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in the Colorado Mountains. He was born March 11, 1989, in Latrobe, a son of Todd H. Funk, of Derry, and Phyllis J. Shaffer) Barlock and her husband, Mike, of Loyalhanna. Jesse was a member of Latrobe United Presbyterian Church. He was a self-employed contractor in Louisville and an Army Veteran. Jesse was a free spirit who lived his life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Phyllis J. Dickey. In addition to his parents, Jesse is survived by a brother, Sean H. Funk, of Loyalhanna; a sister, Jodi L. Funk, of Conroe; maternal grandparents, William and Elaine Shaffer, of Latrobe; paternal grandmother Arline Watson, of Latrobe, aunts and uncles, Kim McIntyre and her husband, Tom, of Latrobe, Bill Shaffer and his wife, Kathy, of Port Charlotte, Fla., Jeff Shaffer of Latrobe, and Todd Shaffer, of Maryville, Tenn; special cousins, Tuck McIntyre and fiancee, Deah, Chad McIntyre and his wife, Aimee, Mattea McIntyre, and Chase McIntyre, all of Latrobe; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.

Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the John J. Lopatich Funeral Home, Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Graff officiating. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery with graveside military honors accorded by the Greensburg VFW Post No. 33.
