Rebecca J. "Becky" (Pence) Long, age 69, of Sullivan, IN died peacefully at her residence on Thursday, August 6, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer.

Becky was born in Williamsport, IN on January 15, 1946. She was the daughter of Ernest and Mildred "Millie" I. (Demotte) Pence Springman. She was a 1964 graduate of Pine Village High School and Indiana State University in 1968 with a General Business Degree. She later went back and received an endorsement and Master's Degree in business education. She taught 35 years at North Knox School Corporation before retiring in 2003. She also worked as a receptionist for Weight Watchers since 1999. In 2006 she began working for Wal-Mart in Terre Haute as a cashier and retired from there in 2012. On January 21, 1968 she married Jim Long in Williamsport, IN. He survives.

Becky was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, Good Sam's Club, Family Motorhome Coach Association, Forest River Owner's Group, Coachmen Owner's Association and AARP. She had many hobbies, camping, water skiing, tennis, attending auto races, and square and round dancing. She was also involved in target shooting, crocheting, reading and computering. She enjoyed traveling and model train collecting and especially loved her dogs.

Surviving with her husband are 1 brother, Tom Pence (Peggy) of Williamsport, IN; several nieces and nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews

Becky was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Roberta Carol.

Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Charlene Grove and Rev. Paul Stamm officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Village Cemetery.
