WAYNESBORO – Sondra Ann (Brockman) Moore, 81, widow of Harry Lee Moore, of 625 Hildebrand Church Road, formerly of Hendren Avenue, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Mrs. Moore was born Sept. 26, 1933, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Thomas Marshall and Marguerite (Fultz) Brockman.

Sondra was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church and a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

On Sept. 28, 1953, she married the late Harry Lee Moore, who preceded her in death March 10, 2007.

Surviving are five sons, H. Michael Moore of Pensacola, Florida, David M. Moore and his wife, Theresa (Hull,) of Staunton, L. Kent Moore and his wife, June (Stoner,) of Mount Sidney, Douglas L. Moore of Waynesboro and Mark F. Moore and his wife, Karen, of Metairie, Louisiana; an adopted grandson, Brannen J. Moore and his wife, Angie, of Verona; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Martha, Lynne, Brock, Spencer, MacKenzie and Alexis Moore; six great-grandchildren, Ethan Moore Underwood, Alexis Campbell, Abigail Grace, Jacob, Braylee and Keagan Moore; and a special “daughter,” Gayle (Byrd) Good.

In keeping with Mrs. Moore’s request, her body was cremated.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank H. Wyche.

The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at the residence of her son and daughter in-law, David and Theresa Moore, at 165 Rome Ave., Staunton.

It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to Hebron Presbyterian Church, 423 Hebron Road, Staunton, VA 24401 or to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
