By the time he was two, the family had moved to the US, where he grew up in the Terry and Glendive areas.
After school, he joined the US Army, serving in Vietnam. In 1985 he met Judy Smelser. They started JC Boot and Tack.
In his free time he worked on an old 1936 Chevy, raced horses, worked in the field and enjoyed doing what the grandchildren wanted to do
Mr Lapp, 61, died September 4, 2005 after a short bout with cancer.
Survivors include Dustin Lapp, Chad Lapp, Jessica (Lance) Yorke and Justina (Pete) Irwin; Toni (Robert) McCann and Stacie Smelser; one brother, Doug (Vicki) Lapp; four sisters, Joyce (Don) Schaff, Wibaux, Barbara (Don) Vowel, Billings, Shirley (Art) Brodie, Glendive; and five grandchildren; ;and five step-grandchildren.
