Nancy McCleary ws born Jan. 1, 1822 at North Bend, PA to Michael McCleary and Barbara Swartz.

Her mother, Barbara's Swartz Mccleary Race's obituary stated her maiden name was Swartz. Nancy McCleary was born to Michael McCleary and Barbara Swartz. Nancy's sister, Elizabeth Race Welsh's obituary states her parents were Anthony Race and Barbara McCleary. It may be that Barbara was first married to Michael McCleary and secondly to Anthony Race? In the 1850 census Anthony Race is with a wife Margaret, either Barbara also went by Margaret or he was also married previously.

June 11, 1839, a marriage record for Anthony Race shows he married an unknown McCleary. Nancy was born about 1822, therefore her father was possibly the McCleary and her sister Elizabeth was born about 1840, after the marriage, and her parents were Barbara and Anthony Race.

The Clinton Whig, Jan. 6, 1845. Married, Washington Drake and Nancy McCleery, both of Chapman Twp, on Jan. 1, 1845 by Michael Quiggle, Esq.

Nancy died on June 21, 1920 at Westport, PA. She was 98 to over 100 years old and widowed. Nancy was buried at the Robbins Cemetery on June 24th in section 1.3.4. The informant on her death certificate was Debrah Drake of Westport, PA.

The deceased was born at North Bend about 90 years ago, and grew to womanhood at that place. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Drake settled on a farm on the sit now occupied by the eastern portion of the Borough of Renovo, their home being at what is now the corner of 12th street and Huron avenue.
