He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ruth McGaffick; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willis and Pauline Swearingen; and brother-in-law, Ray Swearingen. He is survived by wife of 37 years, Jean (nee Swearingen); son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Niki; granddaughter, Sydney Pauline McGaffick; brothers, Dave (Mary) of Scottsville, New York, and Dick (Judie) of Rochester, New York; sister-in-law, Alma Moore of Hookstown, Pennsylvania, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois and Bill Eisle of West End, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Sandy Swearingen of Chester, West Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
The funeral service will be Monday, February 19, 2007, at 12 noon, at the Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Ave, Akron Ohio, 44312, with Rev. Karen Hartley officiating. Interment at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 18, at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., from 1 - 4 p.m. and for ONE HOUR prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Friends who wish may make contributions in his name to the Wedgewood United Methodist Church Trustees or Education Department.
