Nelson Raymond Moore 76, Indianapolis, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at the St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born October 25, 1928, in New Albany, Indiana, the son of Nelson I. Moore and Elizabeth (Biby) Mason. Nelson retired in February 1992, as an over the road truck driver for Roadway Express in Indianapolis, IN for 26 years. He was a 20th Precinct Committeeman for the Republican Party. He was the Treasurer of the Pike Township Republican Club. He was currently serving as president of the Indianapolis Chapter of the Huguenot Society. He was a member of Post #34 of the American Legion in Indianapolis, IN. He was a member of the 11th Airborne Division Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Moore of Indianapolis, IN; son, Matthew Moore and wife, Gail of Nashville, TN; daughter, Susanna Moore-Held and husband, Todd of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren: Deanna & John Todd Held, Emma & Abigail Moore; sister-in-law, Becky Gastel and husband, Kurt of Brownsburg, IN; three nephews; and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson I. Moore and Elizabeth (Biby) Mason; son, Chipper Moore, who died Nov. 10, 1974. Brother DeVern Fromke will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at the Nora Christian Fellowship, 465 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2005, at the church and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery, 10250 Wilson Rd., Brownsburg, IN 46112.
