HEATHER DENISE REED- FLYNN Heather Denise Reed-Flynn, 43, lifelong resident of Kansas City, Mo., passed away August 5, 2015. She was born Oct. 1, 1971, to Tim and Suzanne (DeCanniere) Reed. Heather spent her life illuminating the world with her smile and caring nature. She loved the ocean beaches she visited, canoe trips, slow walks, the warm glow of the sun, and sharing that time with her family. She was completely devoted to her family, and cherished her role as daughter, wife and mother.

Heather was a proud 1989 graduate of Oak Park High School, which provided her many fond memories, and the love of the color blue. Heather also graduated from Kansas State University in 1997 with a degree in Human Ecology. In her first years after college, Heather spent time as an editor for a few locally published magazines, but found her true calling as a stay-at-home mother with the birth her daughter, Hannah in 2003.

Heather devoted every minute and fiber of her being into building that relationship, and her daughter is her greatest legacy. Heather was an active member of P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter JC for over 20 years.

Heather is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Maxine DeCanniere and Violet Amos. Heather leaves her husband of 16 years, David Flynn, her daughter, Hannah Flynn, her parents, Tim and Suzanne Reed, her sister, Courtenay Cunningham (Kemp), nephews, Niall and Eagan Cunningham, and grandfathers, Harold DeCanniere and Norman Amos.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1441 NE Englewood Rd., Kansas City, MO 64118. Heather believed in the gift of life and was determined to be an organ donor upon her death. She was able to fulfill this last wish. She would encourage all who can to do the same to bring joy into the lives of others. Heather was also a dedicated mother to her pets, whether cats, dogs, turtles, birds or fish. She longed for proper treatment and good homes for all animals in need. Please make a donation to the Midwest Transplant Network, the Gladstone Animal Shelter or The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.
