WYTHEVILLE, Va. — Chelsea Lynn Thompson, age 21, of Wytheville, Virginia, formerly of Shady Spring, WV, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, as a result of an automobile accident.

Born on August 2, 1994, in Beckley, she was the daughter of Judy Dodson Thompson of Shady Spring and the late Estel LeeThompson.

Chelsea was employed by Dr. John L. Gravitte as a dental assistant in Mount Airy, NC. She had made her home in Wytheville for the past year. Chelsea was a graduate of Shady Spring High School, and was formerly employed by Dr. Dickens in Beckley as a dental assistant. She loved horses and playing the guitar.

Other than her father, she was preceded in death by uncles, Alan Thompson and Dempsey Dodson, and by grandparents, James and Elizabeth Lucille Dodson and Thomas Thompson.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her mother Judy Thompson, sisters, Chrystal Massie and her husband Justin of Grandview, and Stephanie Thompson and her partner Beth Hammons of Crow.

Paternal grandparents, Ruth and Larry Smith of Cool Ridge, WV.

Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Monday, August 10, 2015, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Delmas Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be friends and family.
