Albert was the son of Martin W. Perrin and Melinda Marie Satterlee Perrin.
He enlisted with others at Lake City, Elk Co., PA during the Civil War, to fill out the Regiment of the 11th PA Reserves, Co. K. They were sworn in for a period of three years. When the Regiment's time was up they were transferred to the First Pennsylvania Rifles. They fought battles at Gaines Hill, Bull Run, South Mountain, Antietam and others. He was taken prisoner August 1964 at Wellsbury or Wellsville R.R. in a small battle. He was confined in Andersonville Prison, then afterward taken to Salisbury Prison, North Carolina, where he died the following February 1865 of Typhoid or starvation fever. He was taken out of the prison on the 20th and buried in a mass grave. But a military gravestone is installed in this cemetery. His family were never notified of his death or received the body.
