Toni Leonard Phillips, age 80, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born in the Hickory Tree Community on February 10, 1935, a daughter of the late Sullivan and Maggie Sykes Leonard. Toni retired from Riversway Outdoor Adventure Center where she worked as a cook. She was a member of Bethel Independent Missionary Baptist Church. Toni taught Bible study and was President of the Residence Counsel at Cambridge House. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude W. Phillips. Survivors include her children, Regina Carr, Michael C. Phillips and wife, Wanda, Julie Adams, Scott Phillips and wife, Becky, Paul Phillips and wife, Diane, Sarah Malone and husband, Todd; sisters, Margaret Guy, Sue Hicks and Nancy Vicars; brothers, Richard Leonard, George Leonard and wife, Sue, and Charlie Leonard; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Dillard and the Rev. Paul Sturgill officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 p.m. prior to the service and at other times at the home of the son, Michael 204 Elizabethton Hwy Bluff City, TN 37618. The committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Shipley Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating.
