DONALD F. LAUBENSTEIN
Donald F. Laubenstein, 49, of 3111 Monroe St., Two Rivers, director of Two Rivers Municipal Utilities for the past 20 years, died Tuesday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services have been tentatively set for Saturday afternoon, at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, Two Rivers, the Rev. David Hansen officiating.
Mr. Laubenstein was born Sept. 21, 1924, at Two Rivers, son of Frederick H. and Mabel Whiting Laubenstein. He attended H.P. Hamilton Elementary School, now the Two Rivers City Hall, and was graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School with the Class of 1942. He enrolled at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and was graduated in 1948 with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering. His university studies were interrupted by service in the Navy in World War II, serving at the U.S. Navel Training Station at Gulfport, Miss. Before coming to Two Rivers he worked in his profession at Jackson, Mich., and Appleton. He became assistant director of the utilities at Two Rivers and made director in 1953. He was a member of the Two Rivers Lions Club, the Elks Lodge and Grace Church at Two Rivers.
Surviving are his wife, the former Joyce Hawley of Madison, his parents; a daughter and a son.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers.
