Lynda R. (Klabunde) Beatty, 67, of Petersburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at St. John's Hospital. Lynda was born February 16, 1948 in Fremont, Nebraska, the daughter of Raymond and Rena Grebe Klabunde. She married William "Bill" Beatty on May 26, 1991 at Washington Park in Springfield. Lynda graduated from high school in Fremont, Nebraska; later attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She retired from the Springfield School District after 33 years. When Lynda was growing up, she worked with her parents at their grocery store. She also volunteered with the New Salem Gift Shop, Food Pantry, and Give and Take charities. Lynda was in the Garden Club in Menard County, an NRA Endowment Life Member, and participated in ABATE, where she made Easter baskets for Hope School and Toys for Tots. She was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan, loved flower gardening, cake decorating, teaching others to decorate, crafting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as NiNi. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Rhonda DeButts. She is survived by her husband, Bill; two daughters, DawnAnn and Jodie ; seven grandchildren,; five great-grandchildren, ; three brothers, Richard, Randy and Raymond , one aunt, Inez ; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery
