A servant of his Lord and his country, James served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, obtained the rank of Sergeant, was awarded the Silver and Bronze Stars and was a POW. He loved evangelizing to people on the street and was involved in the community summer arts programs for children in Bernice. James is preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Proctor is survived by his brother, John William Proctor and wife Karen of Salinas, California; sister, Linda Snow and husband Marvin of Tenaha; aunt, Mau-Wiece Hightower of Lakeland, Florida; niece, Marcy Teague and husband Jared and their son of New Mexico; nephews, Bryan Snow and wife Kimberly of New Mexico, Angelo DiMauro of California and Cody Proctor of California; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home.
