Rosie B. Washington was born in Florance, South Carolina to the late Harry and Lena Bird Washington. She was the oldest of eight children. As a young adult, she made her way to Plainfield, New Jersey. She later met Lester Clark, who preceded her in death. Two children were born, Loretta Spann of Bainbridge, Georgia and Carlos (Adoncia) Spann of Chicago, Il. She moved to Bainbridge, GA in August 1978. While in Bainbridge she joined the Grater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church; where she served actively for many years. She later moved her membership to St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed. She leaves behind three sisters, Fannie Mae Burgess of Florida, Caroline Washington and Mary Lee Anderson of New York; two brothers, Harry Washington, Jr. of New York and Calvin Washington of Georgia. She also leaves eight beautiful grandchildren, Leslie Ann (Jonathan) Kendrick, Malcolm Spann, Aaliyah Washington, MaKayla Spann and Carlita Moore all of Bainbridge. Chamille Spann-Harris of Washington, Bianca and Donovan Spann of Chicago, Il; twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and very close friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters Lucille Washington and Lena Mae Washington-Sears and a grandson Dennis L. Close, Jr.
