He was born Sept. 28, 1940, in Lynchburg, Mo. to Henry and Lily Wade Barton. On Aug. 12, 1982, he married Barbara Blatter.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara, on Jan. 1, 2013; brothers, his twin Ronald Gene (in infancy), Larry, Merlin and Burl Barton, and sister, Evelyn Decker.
Donald Dean Barton worked for MoDOT for 30 years, where he retired. He was a member of Embree Community Church.
Survived by his sons, Ronald (Gail) Barton and Clark (Kelly) Barton; a stepdaughter, Stacy (Arden) Patterson; grandchildren, Kelci, Surina, Shayne, Shayln, Genevieve, Kate, Isabella and Vivienne; sisters, Artie Patterson, Clella Rhea and Carol (Richard) Tunison; his mother-in-law, Alma York; other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Aug. 9, 2015, at Shadel's Colonial Chapel with Wade Perryman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carney Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Memorials have been suggested to Mount Carney Cemetery and donations can be left or mailed to Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
