Wilbur worked the family farm nearly all of his life, until he and Harriet recently moved to the retirement home in Sully. Wilbur loved working around his farm or in his shop,and he especially enjoyed shelling corn. He also liked to visit with their neighbors and spend time with his family. Wilbur attended Sully Christian Reformed Church all of his life. He was also a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau.
Wilbur is survived by his wife,his four children and their spouses; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his siblings: Anna Paulena Van Wyk, Bernard and Lois Van Zante, and Sarah Jonella and Harold Van Wyk.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Andrew in infancy, and his brother Delmon Van Zante.
