Joseph W Young, known to almost every citizen of this community, died at the Terry hospital Wednesday evening after an illness of a little more than three weeks. He was first taken with tonsillitis, and then he contracted a severe cold and then later a severe attack of appendicitis developed, the latter being the cause of death. After the physician was called, an operation was decided upon and the patient was hurried to the hospital last Thursday, when the operation was had. It was found that the appendix had ruptured, the poison from which was then through his system and very little hope was held out to the family.
Joe Young, as everybody knew him came to this section a number of years ago from IA, where he was born on September 29, 1875, being at the time of his death a little more than 47 years of age. He married some years ago and to the union there are two children, a boy and a girl, who with the widow are left to mourn his death. For a number of years he ranched just south of Terry, selling the land this spring to R P Lauer. Everyone liked Joe Young, and he was know as one of the best hearted and neighborly men in this part of the state, and his death will be a shock to many of his friends who had only a short time ago met him on the streets of Terry.
Funeral services will be held at the Community church on next Saturday afternoon by Rev LA Losey, after which the remains will be laid to rest in the Terry cemetery.
To the grief stricken family the Tribune extends its deepest sympathy.
