Randy was the son of Carl Clarence and Ann Rhoda Gibson. He had lived most of his life in the Pittsburg County area. He married Kathy Lynn Wallace on April 7, 1972 in Haywood. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and was also a farmer and rancher. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. During his military service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal and the Bronze Star Medal. He was president of the Board of Directors of the McAlester Credit Union; treasurer of the Postal Employees Welfare Committee; a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Union and the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.) He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Misty Richelle Smith and Monica Rae Smith, both of the home; his mother, Ann Smith of McAlester. Also a brother and sister in law, Phillip and Phyllis Smith of Krebs; a sister and brother in law, Carol and Mickey Clark of Arpelar; his mother and father in law, W. C. and Monti Wallace of Haywood; a brother in law, Curt and Linda Wallace of McAlester; nieces and nephews, Carl and Vanessa Clark, both of Haywood, Daniel Smith of Tonkawa, and Tyler Wallace of McAlester. He was preceded in death by his father. Services were held Friday, July 26, 1996.
