Kossuth's 1st appears 1850 Union Parish, LA in the home of his parents. His father died when he was about 2-yrs old.
His uncle Daniel Fox Bryan sued for custody of Kossuth & his sister, Guatamala, but his mother, Josephine, retained custody. However, she died the next year & the children were taken to Dale Co, AL to be raised by their uncle Daniel.
