Jack E. Busby, 78, of Greenville, formerly of Shelbyville, died Monday (July 24, 2006) at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. Burial was in the Griffith East Cemetery near Brownstown. The Rankin Funeral Home in Salem was in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 27, 1928, in Cromwell, Okla., the son of Charles P. and Gladys Beatty Busby. He married Ruby Lee Valerius in 1952; she died on January 14, 1991. Survivors include sons, Jeffrey Busby of Oxford Mass., and Lonnie Busby of Aurora, Colo.; a brother, Larry Busby of Missoula, Mont.; sisters, Peggy Wilson of Fullerton, Calif., and Wanda Morgan of Greenville, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.

Mr. Busby was a minister and had served in many churches including the Shelbyville First Christian Church. He had been involved in evangelistic work and traveled both here and abroad. Memorials may be made to the CrossPoint Christian Church in Auburn, Mass.
