OTTUMWA – Valeta M. "Molly" Martin, 81, of 308 Chester Ave. died July 30, 1995, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
She was born May 18, 1914, in Linn County. She married Irving "Irvy" F. Martin on July 3, 1950, in Iowa City. He died Jan. 4, 1985.
She is survived by two sons, David Williams of Burlington and Irving M. Martin of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Patricia Albin of Cedar Rapids and Jacqueline Sloan of Marion; five granddaughters who were raised in the home, Kathy Sedore of Marion, Linda Long and Betty Jo Findlay of Ottumwa, Teresa Dotson of Glenwood, Mo., and Julie Upton of Burlington; a grandson, Terry Williams of Davenport, who was raised in the home; eleven other grandchildren; two sisters, Velera McBurney of Toddville and Maxine Miller of Center Point and a brother, Sam Cress of Center Point.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Williams; a sister, Bernita Caldwell and a brother, Jack Cress.
The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. James Grubb of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating.
