Roger Duane “Salty Jr” Morton of Carthage, MO passed away August 1, 2015 at his home.
Born November 21, 1952, he was the son of Ira Ray and Gladys (Becknell) Morton.
Roger grew up in Alba, MO, and attended Alba School until its consolidation with Webb City, and was Student Body President of the class of 1970. He loved to play basketball and was proud to be a member of the Alba Wildcats and Webb City Cardinals Basketball teams.
After high school he followed in his father’s footsteps and worked at Snyder Construction for many years.
In his retirement he loved to fish, read poetry, and most of all, watch his grandsons play baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa and Amanda, and son Greg.
Brothers Sam Morton and David Morton, and sister Sheila; grandsons Spencer, Parker, Noah, Aiden, Landen, Jaxon, and Easten.
Roger has been taken for cremation.
Graveside services are set for Monday August 10, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Friends Cemetery, Purcell MO.
Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City.
