Mrs. Gordon, who passed on August 1, 2015, was born on October 21, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, as the youngest daughter of James and Oretha Phillips. Mrs. Gordon's passion for helping others inspired her successful career as a respiratory therapist. She earned a great reputation at both Brooklyn Jewish Hospital and Victory Memorial Hospital in New York. In 2000, she relocated to Vidalia, Georgia, where she reconnected with her extended family.
She sought after her financial independence, and successfully launched The Gordon & Chase Extreme Hauling Company, which was inspired by the name and memory of her loving nephew Tabari “Chase” Culpepper.
Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her father, James Phillips; her niece, Tyrah Williams; and by her nephew, Tabari Culpepper.
