William J. “Bill” Dvorachek, age 73, of Brillion, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 at his home, with his family by his side.
Bill was born on Nov. 2, 1936, son of the late John and Rose (Opichka) Dvorachek. He graduated from Brillion High School, and then entered the U.S Navy, were he served on the USS Boston. Bill married Marilyn Riemer on Aug. 6, 1960, and she survives him.
He worked for the Brillion Iron Works as a patternmaker for 40 years before retiring. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, Woodworking, bowling, spending time with his grandchildren and going polka dancing on Sunday afternoons. He also loved spending time outdoors in his garden and at the cottage on the Wolf River.
Bill belonged to the West Maple Grove Hunting Club, the Brillion Conservation Club and was a member of the Patternmakers Union. He was an active member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion.
In addition to his wife, Marilyn, Bill is survived by his children; Ken (Peggy) Dvorachek, Wayside; Kay (Jeff) Fischer; Kim (Kurt) Buboltz; Karen (Don) Mathiebe; and Paul (Brenda)Dvorachek, all of Brillion; 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by a great grandson, Carter Zutz; and a great grandson due any day. Bill is further survived by his mother-in-law; Lydia Riemer, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mary Ann (Charles) Schumacher, Brillion; and Gerry Buchholz, Cudahy; two sisters-in-law, Elaine (Ed) Labitze, Manitowoc; and Lynn (Leo) Skattebo, Brillion and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law, Art Riemer.
The funeral Mass for Bill was at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion, with Father Matt Simonar officiating.
