Jimmie Dale Wells, 58, of Granite City Ill., born August 22, 1956, in Mt. Vernon, Ill., passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at his home with family by his side.

Jim was an avid race car fan, and enjoyed fishing along with many other hobbies.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cleo L. Wells.

Surviving are a son, Robert Wells of New York; his mother, Carolyn Wells of Granite City Ill.; two sisters, Patricia Powell and Lisa Caldwell, both of Granite City Ill. He is also survived by four nieces, Stacie (Kevin) Perigo, Jamie Fisk, Stephanie (Fred) SanSoucie and Amber Morlen, all of Granite City Ill.; five great-nieces; and five great-nephews.

Flowers will be accepted at the church along with donations for final funeral expenses.

Services: The family will hold a Memorial Service from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3000 Washington Ave., Granite City Ill. Services will be officiated by Chaplain Greg Stafford Director of Pastoral Care, M.M.C., Springfield Ill.

Jim's remains will be escorted by Chaplain Greg Stafford via motorcycle for his last ride to Donoho Prarie Cemetery, Texico Ill.
