Rita Catherine Hunter, age 95, of Wausau, formerly of Antigo died Sunday at Stoney River Assisted Living.
Rita was born on January 24, 1920 in Detroit, MI to the late George and Caroline (Hellers) Patrick.
On February 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Marion Willard Hunter. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2011.
The couple moved to Antigo and owned and operated a neighborhood grocery store.
Survivors include 2 sons, Willard (Sharon) Hunter of Wausau, Dr. Merle Hunter of Holt, MI, 8 grandchildren, Kathy (Tim) Peat, Scott (Shelly) Albrecht, Mark (Lori) Albrecht, Gail Ziegler all of Madison, WI, Stephanie Hunter of Green Bay, WI, Travis (Erika) Hunter of Deer Park, WI, Jacob Hunter of East Lansing, MI, Michael Hunter of Canton, OH, 6 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Rita was preceded in death by a daughter Margaret Albrecht and a brother Richard Patrick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13 at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 until the time of services on Thursday.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
