Stephen Alan Jenkins, 46, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away and was called home on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Steve was a lifelong resident in the Kansas City area. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1986. He went on to graduate from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta social fraternity. He continued on in school at Vanderbilt Law School in Nashville, TN, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree.
Steve was an Eagle Scout and a Brave in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. In business as an attorney, Steve specialized in employment law. He was a quick wit with a wry sense of humor, which was endearing to friends and family. That spark, that twinkle in his eye, left you constantly wondering what he was up to next. This will be sorely missed.

Linwood Boulevard, in Kansas City, MO. Mass on Thursday will be followed by interment in Mount Moriah Cemetery South. Steve's dad, Charles E. Jenkins, Sr., preceded him in death in December, 2005. Steve is survived by a multitude of family and friends, including two sons, Jackson Jenkins and Harrison Moore; his mother, Sharon Scott; brother, Chuck Jenkins; sister, Julie Coen; two step-brothers, Bryan Scott and Robert Purtymun; two step-sisters, Julie Wiley and Jennifer Perryman; as well as nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to Boy Scouts of America, Heart of America Council, 10210 Holmes Road, Kansas City MO 64131-4212, www.hoac-bsa.org, or Welcome House, 1414 East 27th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108, www.welcomehousekc.org.
