Funeral services for Ray Campbell will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2015 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Reverend Finer Cryer officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Campbell Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home.

Ray, 86, of Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 04, 2015 in his residence.

He was born November 9, 1928 in Pine Prairie to James Campbell and Irene Deville Campbell.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and stationed in Guam along with his first cousin, Wilson J. Campbell of Pine Prairie.

After being discharged from the military, he worked for Dupre Motor Company in Ville Platte for many years. For 40 years, he was employed by Dunham Price Incorp of Westlake, LA as an Operations Manager.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westlake and served as a deacon. Presently, he was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Pine Prairie.

He served 12 years as City Councilman for the City of Westlake. Ray served 12 years on the Calcasieu Police Juror and served 2 terms as president for the Police Juror. He was a member of the Rotary Club and West Calcasieu Kiwanis Club which he served as president for 1 year and served on the board of directors.

Ray, enjoyed squirrel hunting, fishing, and camping out at Tiger and Concordia Lakes, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Georgia Campbell and Amy Campbell; two brothers, Bertrand Campbell and Marvin Campbell; two sisters, Carrie Campbell Martin and Margie Campbell Milam; and one grandson, Quentin Brody Hardesty.

Those left behind to cherish is memory are: one son, Charles Ray Campbell of Westlake; two daughters, Linda Campbell (St. Elmo) Sartin and Sheila Campbell (Keith) Hardesty all of Westlake; one sister, Mary Ruth Novick of Glenmora; four grandchildren, Melissa Sartin Conrad, Sherri Sartin LeCoste, Maeghan Elizabeth Sartin, and Chrystal Starr Campbell; six great grandchildren, Cole Allen Conrad, Kalyn Rae Conrad, Claire Elizabeth Conrad, Kai Ayden LeCoste, Dillon, and Daisy; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel of Oakdale on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., then on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 9 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m.
