Elizabeth attended the Pleasant View Country Grade School near Pella. On Nov. 21, 1934, she married Henry Aalbers in Missouri. They lived in Otley for one year, then moved to the Tone Van Houweling farm. From there they moved to a farm southwest of Monroe. Henry passed away on Dec. 9, 1956, and after one year Elizabeth moved to Pella to work at the Rolscreen Company for 30 years.
