Johnny Carpenter, 81, of Lake Charles, LA died Monday, August 3, 2015 in a local care facility surrounded by his loving family.

Johnny was born on October 23, 1933 in Iowa, LA to Samuel and Margaret Carpenter. He enjoyed many things in life including spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed restoring cars, camping, and making rosaries. He made his Cursillo in the 1980’s in Prairie Rome. Johnny was a man that helped anyone in need and always extended his care to his fellow neighbors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; two childrenA; one brother; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; one sister; and two grandsons, Chad and Jeremy.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a 6:00 pm rosary and a 7:45 pm Cursillo rosary on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Father Matthew Cormier will officiate services.
