Dorothy Phyllis McGuire Davis, 88, of Albany, and formerly of Moultrie, died Saturday August 1, 2015, at her home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Cobb Sunscrest Memorial Gardens.
Born March 27, 1927, in Jacksonville, Fla., she was the daughter of the late George Dewey McGuire and Gladys Clifford Bishop McGuire.
She retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany as a computer operator and was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Dewey Davis, Jr.; and one brother, Garold D. McGuire.
Survivors include her four sons, Roy D. Davis III and Fenuel, of Albany, Ga., James L. Davis ,of Americus, Ga., and Glenn Davis and wife, Marla, of Orlando, Fla., and Bobby Gene Davis and wife, Linda, of Baytown, Tx.; ten grandchildren, Melissa Davis, Roy William Davis, Roy Dewey Davis IV, Brianna Nicole Davis, Jamie Davis, Chris Davis, Joanna Leventis, Talia Davis, Alisa Biester, Kristen Davis, and Chellsen Davis; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald McGuire of, Reno, Nev.; and two sisters, Olive Jeanette Bishop of Viginia, and Gladys G. Turner, of Moultrie, Ga.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel
