Carol Lynne Paul

This Thanksgiving Season finds our hearts overflowing with gratitude and joy for the loving life and legacy of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Carol Lynne. We are also so thankful to our Father in Heaven for bringing Carol Lynne home to His eternal embrace and reuniting her with devoted husband Bill, her parents John Ira and Monida, and brother Ben along with a heavenly host of family, friends and loved ones.

She will be missed by all who knew her, but we know her continued angelic presence and loving memory will be an ongoing source of love and support for all of us. From her days growing up in Ogden as a "Davis" and "Tiger," she has had an unmatched love and admiration for her brothers Jack, Ben and Julian.

Carol Lynne first ventured off to become an "Alpha Chi Omega" at the University of Utah where she graduated and became a "Teacher" at East Millcreek Elementary. Her heart was then competitively courted and swept away by Bill to the Salt Lake Temple as she became his "Wife" and a "Paul."

She was by his side in all things for 53 years, beginning their marriage in Southern California and Japan then returning to Salt Lake City to first make their home in the East Millcreek area as she and Bill became a central part of the "O.C. Tanner Family" for 30 years. She then became an "East Millcreek 8th Warder" on Adonis Drive in the Mt. Olympus area for over 36 years.

At the heart of Carol Lynne's and Bill's life was her becoming a "Mother" to David (Marci Harding), Kelly (Steve Cowser), Cricket (Paul Forster) and Jody (Craig Anderson). In her later years, her greatest joy was becoming "Grandma Paul" to Lauryn, Bryan, Aubrey (Paul Banks) , Madelyn and Sarah Paul - Carly (Chase Thornock), James, Danny (Ali Lloyd) and Will Cowser - Davis and Avery Forster - Zoey and Gracie Anderson.

Towards the end of her life's journey, Carol Lynne became a beloved "Reunion Village Neighbor" as well as the "Great-Grandmother" to Nyle and Gordon (Thornock). Throughout her life she became the devoted "Friend" to countless loved ones, neighbors and simply everyone she met everywhere she went. All of us adored the unconditional love and constant light and happiness Carol Lynne shared so freely as she lived her entire life as a faithful "Member" of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

We will always remember and cherish Carol Lynne for her love and kindness to all, bringing beauty and style to everything she touched and being a true Christ-like example for us in all that she has become in this life. We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to the caring and dedicated people at Sunrise Assisted Living, St. Marks Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Institute, members of the River Ridge Ward, and so many cherished friends for their nurturing and tender support of Carol Lynne and our family.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 28, at the River Ridge 10th Ward, 1409 West Shields Lane, (9800 South) South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church prior to the funeral service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Flowers may be sent to Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 East Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106.
