Charles Stevenson 1917 ~ 2003 Charles Ray Stevenson, age 85, of West Bountiful, Utah, died peaceably at his home Wed. March 19, 2003. Ray was born June 21, 1917 in Santaquin, Utah, the son of James Stevenson and Sarah Helen Cushing. He was the youngest of seven children. He married Wanda Wessman, September 30, 1938 in Santaquin, Utah. They were later the parents of four children. Wanda died June 10, 1998. At a very young age, Ray worked for a short time in the mines in the Tintic area. He was also a long time employee of Otis Elevator Company in Salt Lake City. He also worked for years as Maintenance Supervisor for Grand Central Stores in the Salt Lake City area. Later, as a self-employed cabinet maker, contracted the fabrication of nearly all the store fixtures, storage shelves and the check-out facilities for the Grand Central organization. He was known affectionately as "Red" by his associates. Ray is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ranae Gustaveson of Bountiful, Utah and Mrs. Sandy Dolar of West Bountiful, Utah. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, James Stevenson, Floyd Stevenson, Cleland Stevenson, Arvil Stevenson, and two sisters; Lillian Walker and Clothel Crane. He was also preceded in death by his two sons, Gary Stevenson and Robert Stevenson. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2020 South 200 West.
