Stella Franklin, 85 of Stamford was born into this world on April 6, 1930 to Riley Dean and Stella Jean (Wade) Cochran. Surrounded by her family she passed to her eternal home on Sunday, August 2, 2015. Some 50 plus years ago, she moved to the Jones County area. She attended school in Anson, Texas. Stella and Jodie Edward Franklin were united in marriage in August of 1968. She worked at Teakwood Manor Nursing Home for over 30 years. Stella was a member of Solomon Temple Baptist Church in Stamford. Stella was a loving mother and instilled the value of family to her children. She leaves to cherish her memory: 2 sons, Ronnie Pryor and wife Rachel and Jodie Franklin and wife Diana; 12 daughters, Willa Franklin, Toney Wesley and husband Dewayne, Brenda Griggs and husband Odell, Johnnie Franklin, Mary Cox, Betty Sue Cooper and husband Herman, Essie Pryor, Linda McGee and husband Curtis, Alfredda Davis and husband Victor, Mary Franklin, Stella Woodard and Debra Franklin all of Stamford, Texas; 1 brother Jack Cochran of Stamford, Texas; 28 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Manuel Pryor, a daughter Glenda Franklin, 2 sisters, Martha Hunter and Mary L. Belcher, 2 brothers, including her twin brother Riley Dean Cochran and James Anderson, grandchildren, Crystal Diane Franklin and Casen Steel Riley Stella will be honored and remembered by family and friends during Funeral Services on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church (214 N. Swenson) with the Rev. Donnie Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
