Peggie Ann Spencer, age 78, Lawton, died August 2, 2015 in Lawton. She was born April 14, 1937 in Davis, Oklahoma, to Jack V. and Oleta Guffin. She moved to Altus as a young girl. She later moved to Lawton and attended Lawton High School. She married Mancy Andrew Spencer on October 30, 1954 in Lawton. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2011.
Peggie was primarily a homemaker but had served as a child care provider both in her home and for a number of years at Susie’s Day Care. She had been a member of the First Church of God where she taught Sunday school and was currently attending First Assembly of God. She loved crafts as well as sewing and crocheting. She served as a volunteer at the Wichita Mountains Area Senior Citizen’s Center and often ate lunch with other seniors at the luncheons provided by Centenary United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two children and their spouses, Billy and Tami Spencer and Barbara and Tommy Tysdal, all of Lawton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Nicholas Spencer, Krystle and Todd Newton, Ashley and Jeremy Boone and Colton Tysdal; four great grandchildren and a soon to be born great granddaughter, Caleb James Newton, Alyssa Grace Newton, Zoe Faith Newton and Abigail Keeley Boone; a sister and brother in law, Francine and David Crutcher; a brother and sister in law, Sam and Susie Guffin.
