Jasper Oden, Retired Farmer, Dies; Rites Today at Blackwell
Roscoe, June 26- Jasper Oden 83, retired Blackwell Farmer
and resident of Nolan County 33 years died friday at 6:00 p.m.
in Hendrick Memorial Hospital at Abilene after an illness of
several weeks.

Funeral will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. in Blackwell Methodist
Church. The Rev. Raymond Dyess of Pampa, former pastor
will officiate assisted by the Rev. David Hamblen present
paster.

Burial will be in Blackwell Cemetery under the direction
of Wells Funeral Home of Roscoe.

Mr. Oden was born in Leon County on May 7 1871.

He married on Dec. 25 1895 to former Sally Pate at Buffalo,
Leon County, She died on Feb. 24 1899 after bearing two
children.

On Feb 1903 he married the former Mary Vaught also in
Leon County, they moved in November 1915 to Nolan County,
Where Mrs. Oden died Apr. 23 1949.

Mr. Oden was a member of the Methodist Church and the 100F
Lodge.

Survivors including two sons by his first marriage Leonard Oden
of Loraine and Austin Oden of Peoria Ariz; nine children by his
second marriage, Melvin Oden, TJ Oden, Mrs Ross Reaves, Mrs
Dewey Nabors all of Blackwell, Joe Oden Okla, John A Oden, of
Dodge City Kan., Mrs Lou Emma Bartee of Floydada, Mrs Rena Mae
Beam of Sweetwater and Mrs Louise McPetees of Hidge Crest Calif;
and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Walter Sanders, Spurgean Smith., Bell Ware, R Q SP?
Tom Payne, and Roy Sanderson.
