Lloyd Grant Duncan, 84, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. He was born in Garrard County, Ky., to the late Isaac B. and Linnie Preston Duncan. Duncan retired following over 39 years of service as a Boiler operator with Kentucky Utilities Tyrone Power Plant. He is a member and deacon emeritus of First Christian Church. He was one of the first members of the Wheels of Time Car Club, a charter member of the Stringtown Ruritan Club, and a former Fire Chief with the Stringtown Fire Dept. He served as Cpl in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gerry Smith Duncan; a daughter, Jan Rogers (Mike); a son, Larry Duncan (Julie); two grandchildren, Kyle Rogers and Mollie Quisenberry (Cory), all of Lawrenceburg; a sister Hallie B. Grow of Garrard County; a niece, Wilma Grow; and three nephews, David Duncan, Jerry Duncan and Robert Grow. Including his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Paul Duncan.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with the Rev. James Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 24 from 4-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jerry Duncan, Jim Walker, Burt Hahn, Terry Young, Ronnie Peach and Billy Crawford. Honorary bearers will be Vaughn Quisenberry, Vernon Cantrell, David Duncan, Rick York, Jim York and Jerry Cammack. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 300 S. Main St., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.
