Glen Oscar Tarner Jr., 77, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on July 30, 2015, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born October 16, 1937, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Glenn Oscar and Louise Cosgrove Tarner Sr.

Glen graduated from St. Mary’s School in 1955.

He worked at Jamison Door Company for 40 years.

Glen attended St. Mary’s Church and was an usher for 20 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 378. He was a coach for Little League Baseball and Junior League Basketball. Glen served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958. He loved to play golf and played in the Jamison Golf League.

Glen is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Jane Tarner of Hagerstown; one brother, James Tarner of Waynesboro, PA; one sister, Catherine Martin of Greencastle, PA, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Tarner.

Services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2015, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Funkstown Community Rescue Service, 110 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
