Obituary From "Ottumwa Daily Courier," Saturday, July 5, 1913, Page 4:

James A. McHugh was born July 9, 1866 in Van Buren county and was 46 years, 11 months and 11 days old when he departed this life, June 20, 1913 in Missoula, Mont.

He was united in marriage to Miss Cella Heller on January 25, 1893. To this union was born one son who died in infancy. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, an aged mother, three brothers and five sisters. He had been a life long resident of Wapello county until a few months ago when he decided to go west in the hopes of benefiting his health, but he steadily grew worse and peacefully passed away at the home of his mother.

He was a true and devoted husband, a kind neighbor and one held in high esteem by all that knew him. His demise will be mourned by a large circle of friends who extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved relatives. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.B. Cadwell of the Main Street M.E. church assisted by the Rev. Mr. Hankins.–Contributed.
