Mary Vera "Nookie" LaCombe, 85, of Lake Charles, passed away at 1:53 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017, in a local hospital.
Mrs. LaCombe was born in Hayes, La. on June 2, 1931 to Joseph and Odelia Hebert Trahan. She was Catholic and a CFMA member. Mary loved to crochet and made angels as well as other items.
She is predeceased by her husband; Willard Joseph LaCombe, parents; Joseph and Odelia Hebert Trahan; son, Robert Lee LaCombe and daughter, Betty Ann Haycraft.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons; Arthur Olson LaCombe of Patterson, TX; Johnny David LaCombe of Lake Charles; Virgil Paul LaCombe of Simonton, TX; daughter, Brenda Gail Minks of Orchard, TX; brother, Floyd Lee Trahan of Sulphur; sister, Susie Jaunice of Lake Charles; 11 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Burial will be at Granger Cemetery in Cameron, LA.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to Brenda Minks to help with funeral expenses.
