He served in the United States Air Force and was part of the Merced American Legion Post #83. He was an MRI Technician at Fresno Open Imaging.
Leroy was an avid golfer, bowler and Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed woodworking, cruising and traveling the world with his wife, Sue Shepherd.
He had a unique sense of humor, and never met a stranger. We will miss his quick wit and sense of fun. The joy of his life was his grandchildren and his wife.
Leroy is preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and William Shepherd; brothers, Lloyd, Raymond and Kenny; and his grandson, Nicholas Stone.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Shepherd; daughters, Robin Arguelles (John), Traci Strauss (Robert), Amy Stone (Tim); son, Mark Bush (Sara); brothers, Donald, Bill (Fran) and Howard; sisters, Laura, Polly (Bob) and Dorothy.
Services will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1400 B Street, Merced, California, 95340.
Burial will be held on Tuesday August 4, 2015 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California.
