Ruth Luella Blair, 90, of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord Jesus, on Friday, July 31, 2015. She was born January 19, 1925 in Scranton, PA and was the daughter of the late John B. and Mildred E. Evans.

She graduated from Technical High School in 1942 and was a graduate of Hyde Park Bible Institute in Scranton, PA, and Bible Study Fellowship in Kingsport, TN. In 1946, she married Merle Eugene Blair, from Chambersburg, PA, who preceded her in death in 2008. Ruth was employed by International Correspondence Schools, Retail Credit Co and Hudson Coal Company in Scranton, PA. Ruth and Merle retired in Kingsport, TN in 1985. Ruth and Merle were members of Tri Cities Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruth had a strong faith in God and looked forward to eternity with Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her dear brother-in-law, George Stocking.

Those left to cherish Ruth’s memory include her four children: Janice Dwyer and her husband Richard, of Johnson City, TN, Linda Gay and her husband Woody, of Louisville, KY, David Blair and his wife Nancy, of Rogers, AR, Donald Blair and his wife Lori, of Fort Walton Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister, Thelma Stocking, of Louisville, KY, several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends to share memories on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 9:30 am until 10:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services Johnson City, followed by a Celebration of Ruth’s Life. A graveside and Committal Service will follow in Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be sent to Amedysis Hospice 1500 West Elk Avenue Elizabethton TN 37643.

The family also wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care Ruth received at the Christian Care Center of Johnson City and from her dear friends and caregivers, Joyce Pickering and Gloria Whiteside
