He was married about 1879 to Mary Penelope "Penno" Womack (1862–1909), the daughter of Burgess Harrelson Womack (1819–1904) and Elizabeth Emaline (Womack) Womack (1822–1901). Mike was married 2nd about April 1910 to Miss Lucy N Bomar (1855–1930), who was born about 1855.
A railroad watchman living at 1708 Nassau Street, Nashville, Mike was 64 years old and married when he died at home of apoplexy on March 31, 1923. Burial was on April 2nd in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
