Rita Lou (Henderson) Hogan, 70, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2015. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Park.

Rita was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Thurmon Franklin and Mary Lou Ella (Price) Henderson. Rita’s family moved around for most of her childhood years and she graduated from McKinney High School in 1963. She married Bill Hogan on July 6, 1963 in Durant, Oklahoma. Rita was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne, Texas. She worked as a waitress, worked for the City of McKinney, worked for St. Regis/Dupont Paper Manufacturing, and worked for Primo Microphone where she retired. Rita enjoyed spending time with family and her beloved mini Yorkshire terrier, Bitzy, collecting John Wayne memorabilia and movies, traveling to Oklahoma for hometown reunions, and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on July 21, 2015; four brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include her son, Michael L. Hogan and wife, Liz; granddaughter, Lauren M. Hogan; grandson, Bradley Hogan; sister, Ronna Johnson and husband, Glen, all of McKinney; brother, Ray Thomas Henderson and wife, Laura, of Benton, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Rhonda J. Hogan, of Allen, Texas; brother-in-law, Jerry Hogan and wife, Martha, of Van Alstyne, Texas; nieces, Laura Green and husband, Reggie, and family of Van Alstyne, Texas, Melissa Smith and husband, Booter, and family of McKinney, Texas, and Jenny Small and husband, Jay, of Keller, Texas; and several other nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.
