Earl A. "Junior" Hensley, Jr., age 78, Carthage, Mo., passed away July 30, 2015, after a sudden illness.

Earl A. Hensley, Jr. was born Oct. 16, 1936, in Carthage, the son of the late Earl A. Hensley, Sr. and Nettie Mae Edwards. He was a graduate of Carthage Senior High School, Class of 1954, and attended Franklin Technical School, in Joplin, Mo.

He married Evelyn Holmes on Sept. 3, 1955, in Maple Grove, Mo.; she survives.

Mr. Hensley worked for Hercules, Ireco, and Dyno/Nobel for 38 years, retiring in November, 1996. He was a member of the former Temple Baptist Church, a 50 year member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Joplin, Abou-Ben Temple, Springfield, Mo., and served on the Carthage Special Road District Board for 9 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl A. Hensley, Sr. and Nettie Mae Hensley, and his stepmother, Marion Keyes.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Terri (Carol) Johnson, Industry, Texas, Julie (Steve) Theil, Jasper, Mo., and Kelly Hensley, Carthage; two sons, Steve (Debbie) Hensley, Carthage, and Kevin Hensley, Carthage; one sister, Judy Hensley, Ainsworth, Neb.; four brothers, Ben (Pat) Hensley, Carthage, Tim (Shirley) Hensley, Arcadia, Kan., Karl (Margaret) Hensley, Elgin, Neb., and Doug (Cindy) Hensley, Carthage; six grandchildren, Carrie (Blake) Galle, New Ulm, Texas, Matt Theil, Jasper, Dustin Hensley, Carthage, Allison (Wes) Thomas, Junction City, Kan., Amanda (Brad) Fosdick, Carthage, and Jeff (Cassidy) Johnson, Dayton, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Kelton Galle, Callie Thomas, Wyatt Johnson, Baylor Hensley, Katelynne Galle, and Macy Fosdick.

Masonic Rites will be given at 5:30 p.m. followed by a visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 3, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Ron Franklin will officiate. Interment will be held in Dudman Cemetery, SE of Carthage.

Memorial gifts are suggested to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Fund in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut, Carthage, MO., 64836.
